The Journal of Women’s Studies is published twice a year in the months of August and February and carries articles and research papers on subjects related to the domain of Women’s Studies. The first volume of the journal was published in August 2009. The journal is meant to be a scholarly enterprise to produce new knowledge in the field of Women’s Studies and related interdisciplinary areas. The journal is now in its ninth year of publication and has been a space wherein scholars from different parts of the country have voiced their ideas, discussed issues of the times pertaining to women, and enhanced the scope of questions raised and answers given with regard to the woman’s question in India. Our authors have been senior professors, activists and promising research scholars, independent and affiliated to various institutions across India. The journal registers an interdisciplinary approach in its selection and review of articles published. Through this journal, we hope to raise awareness about the need for the continued search for answers as regards the many layered problems of the girl child and the woman in India. The Journal for Women’s Studies is published under the auspices of the UGC Centre for Women’s Studies, Empowerment & Social Research run by the Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College, Bangalore
